BOMBANANA! Manual - How the Bomb Defusal Manual Works

The bomb defusal manual is the heart of BOMBANANA!. Every module on a bomb has a page in it that explains the rule for solving that module, and only one player can read it.

Who can read the manual?

Only the Mute Monkey. The Mute Monkey holds the manual but can’t speak, so the answer has to travel to the others with gestures and emotes. The Deaf Monkey sees the bomb, and the Blind Monkey is the one who actually presses, cuts and turns things. See roles.

What a manual page looks like

Each module gets its own page with a drawing of the module and a short rule. For example, the Cable Module page says to cut one cable, chosen by how many cables are connected and which color light is on, with a lookup table for each cable count. See bomb modules for the modules we’ve confirmed.

How to read the manual faster

1. Let the Deaf Monkey lead. They should name the module first (“cable module”), so the Mute Monkey flips to the right page immediately.
2. Give the inputs in the manual’s order. For the Cable Module that’s number of cables, then light color.
3. Agree on signals for numbers and positions before you start, so the Mute Monkey can point out “third cable from the left” without words. Our callout card generator helps.
4. Confirm before acting. One wrong cut can cost a mistake or the whole bomb.

Is there a BOMBANANA! manual PDF?
